Thousands of people decorate for Xmas early Posted On 17 November 2020

Huge numbers of people are already putting the Christmas decorations after a difficult year…

With 2020 being a year like no other, thousands of people are putting their Christmas decorations up early to spread festive cheer and bring a bit of magic and joy to the end of this troubled year.

Whether you are bar humbug and agree or not, surely at the end of a year like this, all traditional rules are out when it comes to bringing a bit of happiness back, especially with the grey day and dark nights during the second lockdown.

Social media was awash this weekend with thousands of people embracing the festive season earlier than usual, and putting up their decorations. And why not! After all, Christmas is supposed to be one of the happiest times of the year. If it brings a smile to a child’s face when they drive around seeing lights up, then isn’t that what it’s all about?

Christmas is a time when we can create happiness and joy with gifts to loved ones, lots of nice food, a few drinks and a general upswing in mood. But it can be more than that too… it could be just what we all need at the end of this year to lift the nation.

It’s been a difficult and confusing 2020 for everyone, especially children. But now there is something we can do… we can all get in the festive spirit earlier and show our defiance that the pandemic WON’T take Christmas from us, not this year, not now when we need it the most!!!

This isn’t just about Christmas, it’s about how we treat people, and if we’re all a little bit more joyful and happy, we can get through anything, together. Treat yourself, treat your family, treat your friends. Smile, hold the door for someone, laugh and be merry. Sing songs, dance with your partner, be silly…

Christmas 2020 is coming, are you ready?
